Statement

鍛金・彫金の技法を用いて、装飾品や器を制作しており、植物の、特に種や実などの形態から着想を得ています。金属の板を鎚で叩き、立ち上げ、凹凸をつけていく。鍛金は実に単純な、ある種の瞑想的な行為の繰り返しです。長い制作過程おける、私の一打一打、鎚目の一つ一つと、命を紡いでいくための種や実などの「容」とを重ね合わせ、原始的な記憶に呼びかけるような作品の制作を探求しています。

I produces ornaments and vessels using hammering and chasing techniques, and my works are inspired from plants, with particular focus on forms of seeds and fruits. Hammering is a very simple and somewhat meditative repetition of the act of beating the metal sheet to create undulation, convex and concave. I intends to produce works awakening people’s primitive memories by integrating my every hammer beat with the form of seed or fruit generating and sustaining life during the long production process.
