In this project, I aim to renew the ornamentation in silversmithing by re-observing its nature of life that is retained as the "semiotic decoration”.
By subjective observing, I want to preserve the beauty of the Acanthus in its original form, with the rhythm of the dense foliage, the chips and stains.

It developed at northern region, Niigata prefecture. When the tin plated on the copper surface is heated up at a high temperature, these are fused on the surface, then become a kind of bronze alloy. As you can see in the second photo, the beautiful yellowish bronze pattern will appear when it is sulfured. Also this composition of alloy will be change about how much heated up, so it means the silver colour of tin is getting bronze the more you heat.
